This is the way I used to get the max in the stat "Magic Find". Getting gold items to extract that give Globs of Ectoplasm, extract Ecto. and get from it Essences of Luck. As you can seen at the very end, even I reach maximum 300 + 5 from Hero points, i could still "eat" essences of luck which seams to be a pure waste.

Magic Find Globs of Ectoplasm method ,everyone told me if you want to max out magic find use ectos and im like what i don't have the gold for that, but they forgot to tell me the most important thing which is if you buy ectoplasm and you salvage it you will get piles of crystaline dust so that you can sell them and recover 90% give or take of the gold you spent, so i kept doing it and now am at like 160% magic find from 90% in like 3 days only loosing like 20g in total i mostly lose gold on listing fee but 1 quick run in the Silverwaste gets me 10g so its ok . How lucky will I be today salvaging ectoplasm?
*update* How I did it and got x4 money in the process. I started with: * Magic Find +1% (from an achievement) * 200 gold (from previous trading operations) * a character with an Artificer crafting skill and 4 empty bags x18 slots * Copper-fed Salvage-o-Matic What I was doing (every day for about 10-14 hours): * at Trading Post placing orders for buying blue and green items level 24-60 I started with blue only - they give more money back * all types of weapon * all types of heavy armor (easier to buy with a guardian/warrior character) At the start I was buying 11 items of each type and 33 at finish Prices for buying. When I was care about money income (at the start): * blue items for up to 1,3 silver * green items for up to 1,8 silver When I was not care anymore about money income (at finish): * blue items for up to 2,0 silver * green items for up to 2,5 silver * salvaging all items with Copper-fed Salvage-o-Matic * blue items randomly gives Essence of Luck: 10, 50 or 100 luck * green - randomly - double amount of blue and 200 luck spheres * selling received materials on Trading Post, when I got a stack of them (250 pieces) (with prices, aimed for a quick sell, not maximum profit) * crafting Essence of Luck with an Artificer skill (10 to Master, Master to Rare, Rare to Exotic) * after accumulating 5-10 stacks of Exotic Essence of Luck happy clicking them, adding Luck to account ;) I finished tired and satisfied with: * Magic Find +301% * 840 gold * spent ~300 hour of my life on this Few notices for those, who want to repeat it: * be persistent (a process quick at the start, slow at the middle, painful at the end) * be accurate with numbers (it's a lot of work and you can lose money otherwise) * sell wise (lower, than "few thousands of items" position, but higher than "few tens") * starting with 400-600 gold would be ideal * improve this technology, it's not perfect * if few people do it at the same on your server, it can take much more time for all Wish you do it better and faster than me. Best of luck to you ;) *original message* This is a maximum amount of luck, that we can get from the Essence of luck in Guild Wars 2 today. It took about 200,000 items to salvage (green/blue ~40/60). I have achieved this on october, 5. Just was too lazy to upload the video. Knowing the technology, it can be done in 2 weeks (about 12-14 hours of work every day). Yes, insane, but after that you can play as much, as you wish without thinking of luck ;) I have not invested real money for this. Everything can be done with in-game methods. But I almost broke my good old Logitech G9 working on this. Can not reveal the technology right now, because I am helping to my daughter with this.
